Privacy notice
This notice explains how Laugh Mob Pty Ltd (ABN 49 606 065 918), trading as Laugh Mob and running Sydney Comedy Cellar, handles your personal information. We handle it in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and, if you give it, your mobile number.
- Your bookings: the show, the date, how many tickets, the price, your booking reference and whether you were checked in at the door.
- Whether you joined the club and whether you agreed to receive our emails, with the date and how you agreed.
- Which of our links, posters or QR codes brought you to the site, so we know which promotions work.
- Payment details from Stripe, such as whether the payment succeeded and the card type. Stripe handles your card number; we never see or store it.
Why we collect it
- To take and confirm your booking, send your tickets and tell you about changes to your show.
- To run the door list, process refunds and answer your questions.
- To keep the records that tax and consumer law require.
- To understand how people find us and improve our shows and promotions.
- Only if you said yes: to send you club news and offers by email.
If you do not give us your name and email, we cannot take a booking.
Emails
We always email you about your booking. We send news and offers only if you agreed to receive them, and every such email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing does not cancel your bookings or your club membership.
Cookies
The site uses cookies needed for booking and payment to work, and one cookie that remembers which of our links you arrived from, for 30 days. We do not use advertising cookies.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help us run bookings, and only for that purpose:
- Stripe, to take payments.
- Our website host, DreamHost.
- Our email delivery service, Migadu, which sends your tickets.
- Our email newsletter service, only if you agreed to receive our emails.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to our professional advisers.
Information stored outside Australia
Some of these services store information overseas, including in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. We choose services that protect personal information to a standard comparable with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Security and how long we keep it
We protect your information with access controls, encrypted connections and reputable providers. We keep booking and payment records for as long as tax law requires (generally five years) and delete or de-identify information we no longer need.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop emailing you, by writing to hello@laughmob.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
